For The Big Day Photos
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is my background in photography?
My interest in photography goes back many years to the time
when I was a child and taught myself to use a twin lens reflex
camera.  While working my way through college, I was fortunate
enough to work as long distance truck driver for an antique
dealer.  But this was not just any antique dealer; this was a well
known and respected expert in 18th century English antiques.
During this time, I received on the job training to correctly use
medium and large format cameras, as well as studio lights, light
meters and how to shoot attractive photographs of the ever
changing inventory.

I studied photography in college, and again had the good
fortune to receive private instruction from a master
photographer.  I’ve always taken photographs of my friends and
work colleagues, and work related events including the grand
opening of a new information center at which the then reigning
Ms. America (Kate Shindle, Ms. America 1998) was the guest of
honor.

Over the years I've invested in professional equipment.  I use the
front room in my house as a comfortable and friendly studio,
and my wife supports my habit by being my experienced make-
up artist for all shots.  When time permits, I enjoy product,
portrait, sports, event, and wedding photography.

Do You Only Work with Professional Models?
No, I welcome opportunities to work with non-models and new
models to start or enhance their modeling portfolios.  Currently, I
am expanding my portfolio and seek non-models and first time
models to create interesting images.

What Should I Wear?
We recommend that you wear whatever makes you feel
comfortable, relaxed, happy, attractive, and sexy.  This can
mean jeans and a tee shirt, or a cocktail dress, or something in
between.  Please remember to bring shoes, jewelry, and
undergarments that compliment whatever you wear.

How Should I Prepare for the Photo Shoot?
We recommend that you take great care of your skin and be
sure to carefully wash and moisturize your face the day of the
shoot.  Remember that your hands and arms will be part of the
pictures so take a few moments to clean and moisturize them
too.

What Type of Photos Should I have Made?
We can help you create a wide range of images including:

Portrait: Relaxed poses in street clothes, expresses a casual
look.  Can include head shots as well as full body shots.  *

Glamour: Poses are more creative, and the clothes you
select should make your feel sassy, sexy, and seductive.  *

Lingerie/Boudoir: Intimate apparel used in conjunction with
    a variety of poses.  *

* Please note that for all these styles, we can work together to
carefully and strategically pose you, your clothing, and in some
cases props to accentuate what you see as your strengths and
draw attention away from areas that you would like to minimize.

What does something like that cost?
The short answer to your question is zero, nothing, dada, zippo.

The more complete answer to your question is that I am an
experience photographer and am looking to expand my portrait
portfolio.  I work with professional models and first time models
on what is called a TFCD (trade for CD) basis.  We would
exchange services -- my photography services for your modeling
services. I will ask you to sign a standard model release form
that allows me to use the images we create to promote my
work.  You will receive high resolution digital photos on CD.  You
can use the digital photos as you wish (you just can’t sell
them).  You can post them on your Facebook or MySpace page,
or submit them to a modeling agency, or print them and give
them to a loved one.

Safety
Finally, please know that my wife is my onsite make-up artist as
well as my photography assistant, and you are welcome to bring
your own escort.  It is important to me that you are comfortable
working with us, especially during the shoot.
